Weekend market prices

As of 15:05 UTC on Oct 27, 2026, you can see live prices on this board, including when exchanges are closed: gold $4,058.60, S&P 500 tracker 7,713.30, Nasdaq-100 tracker 29,578.00 — each from 24/7 perpetual futures on Hyperliquid's xyz markets, shown next to the perp price at the last official close, with a quote timestamp per row.

When traditional exchanges are closed, regulated cash markets go quiet—but macro news does not. This board tracks indicative weekend and overnight levels for major assets using 24/7 on-chain perpetual quotes, then compares them with the last official-session close in US Eastern time.

Why weekend prices exist

Official cash markets observe session calendars. COMEX metals, NYMEX energy, US equity cash, and bank FX all pause on a weekly rhythm anchored to America/New_York. During those pauses there is no central limit order book printing an official last sale—but portfolios still have risk, headlines still land, and hedgers still need a sense of fair value.

Global macro perpetuals on decentralized venues trade continuously. They are not exchange settlements: they can diverge from index levels, especially when liquidity thins. Still, they offer a transparent, timestamped quote that many traders use as a weekend thermometer. We label the reference close honestly: the perpetual price in the one-hour candle that ends at the official close time, not the exchange settlement print.

Use this site to see the live gap, recent weekend ranges, and how often the Sunday reopen direction matched the weekend drift. For definitions, data lineage, and limitations, see methodology.

FAQ

Where can I see live market prices on weekends when stock markets are closed?

As of 15:05 UTC on Oct 27, 2026, this board shows gold $4,058.60, S&P 500 tracker 7,713.30, Nasdaq-100 tracker 29,578.00. Quotes come from 24/7 perpetual futures on Hyperliquid's HIP-3 xyz markets (public info API), refreshed by a server snapshot every 5 minutes, and are compared with the perp price at the last official close in US Eastern time. They are indicative, not official index levels or settlements.

Can I trade gold or stock indices 24/7 using crypto perpetual futures?

Yes, on venues that list them: the quotes on this board come from Hyperliquid xyz markets for gold (xyz:GOLD), the S&P 500 (xyz:SP500) and a Nasdaq-100 tracker (xyz:XYZ100), which quote around the clock while COMEX gold futures are shut Friday 5:00 p.m. ET to Sunday 6:00 p.m. ET and NYSE/Nasdaq cash is closed all weekend. They are perpetual contracts rather than the exchange-listed instruments, so weekend liquidity is thinner and prices can diverge from the official open. Availability and trading hours depend on the venue that lists the market.

Best way to trade gold on weekends?

Official COMEX gold futures and US-listed gold ETFs do not trade on weekends, so the practical way to get gold exposure then is a 24/7 gold perpetual. As of 15:05 UTC on Oct 27, 2026, gold (XAU/USD) is indicated at $4,058.60 on 24/7 perpetual futures (Hyperliquid xyz market), +0.96% vs the perp price of $4,019.90 at the last official close (Mon, Oct 26, 5:00 p.m. ET). Across the last 22 weekends in our dataset, gold's perpetual moved a median of 0.15% (max 0.74%) between Friday's close reference and the last quote before Sunday reopen. Check the gap against Friday's reference and the history before sizing a position; our weekend gold price page has the live quote and our guide to whether gold trades on weekends has the COMEX schedule.
